Background

Flow is Samsung's first step towards its long-term vision of creating an interconnected ecosystem of Samsung devices. With the Flow app, users can transfer the current state of an app in use to a nearby Samsung device, so that the activity at hand can be performed on an ideal device. Users can also choose to defer the state for resuming later on any device. Visit Site

Involvement

At Samsung, I worked closely with senior principal engineer Jeff Pierce to lead the user experience of Flow. While much of the UX was driven by time and technical constraints, I specifically designed the experience of onboarding, pairing devices into a collection, responding to potential network issues, and receiving notifications. I was also responsible for researching into how different modes of transfer affect the different types of activities being transferred. For deliverables, I designed conceptual UIs for each mode of transfer and tested their performance on each type of activity.
